“Letting go of attachments to outcomes like…” / by Lyric Everly

I struggle with letting go. It's something I have to consistently work on.
--
I have a creative mind and a romantic heart, so I catch myself gripping onto idealist visions wrapped in this unshakable wild hope. While I genuinely believe that most anything can be damn near magical if we commit and give it heart, when it comes to relationships, we can't force the other person to be on the same page. It's super annoying. :)

So I lose sleep over it and let my heart ache until I realize that sweet surrender is all that I have to give, Sarah McLachlan. Even looking back over my not-so-pristine past, I can clearly see how holding onto outcomes only hurt me, but letting go either provided my desires, or put me on a path of personal growth and pretty things.

I'm a better me when I "Let Go and Let God." Now, can I learn to do it with grace?
